Travel Vaccinations, Travel Health, and Travel Immunizations

With a growing need for urgent care in The Woodlands, Kingwood, Humble, Champions, Spring, and the surrounding areas, there is a need for physicians experienced in travel medicine, which encompasses travel vaccinations, travel health, travel consultations, and travel immunizations. Westfield Urgent Care professionals bring over 20 years of experience within the Memorial Hermann Hospital System in the area of travel medicine to these communities.

Good Health – Take It With You!

Whether you are traveling for pleasure or business Westfield Urgent Care can prepare you for your trip with destination-specific health information, travel vaccinations and immunizations, and other travel shots.

Exciting destinations, exotic foods, engaging customs… International travel, whether for business or personal reasons, can be challenging if you are not prepared. Disease, illness, and injury happen unexpectedly to even the most experienced traveler. Planning for good health on an international trip is as important as buying tickets or obtaining a visa and passport. That is why Westfield Urgent Care’s mission is to provide information, travel vaccinations, travel immunizations, and travel medications for the international traveler.

Most vaccines take time to become effective in your body and some vaccines must be given in a series over a period of days or sometimes weeks. As with anything else, planning is the key. Make sure you come see us four to six weeks before you plan to disembark on your travels.

If it is less than four weeks before you plan to leave, you should still come in to Westfield Urgent Care. You might still benefit from certain travel vaccinations, travel immunizations, shots, medications, and information we will share with you about how to protect yourself from illness and injury while traveling.

Domestic Immunizations and Vaccinations

While travel medicine is our specialty, we also respond to our community’s need for specialty immunizations and vaccinations that are not necessarily related to travel.

Immunizations are an important part of keeping yourself healthy. Unfortunately, fewer doctors are administering them, and many people just aren’t sure which immunizations they need.

We are providing for:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Polio
  • Hepatitis B
  • Pneumococcal
  • Influenza
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus
  • MMR
  • Typhoid (shot or pills)
  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Rabies
  • Yellow Fever

At Westfield Urgent Care, it is our priority to ensure that you get the vaccinations you need along with the personal care and attention you deserve. We will take the time to answer all your questions and give you the facts.

And because we’ll always make time for you, we’ll also do our best to make your visit as convenient as possible. You can stop by and see us anytime. Or, if you already know which vaccination you need, you can also make an appointment. We’re ready to discuss your immunization needs and administer vaccines anytime you are.

Corporate Services

Westfield Urgent Care teams up with your company to provide pre-travel immunizations and counseling for international travelers. Let us educate your employees on the potential diseases and health risk they may encounter when traveling abroad.

Contact our office for more information or to schedule a meeting to find out more about how Westfield Urgent Care can benefit your company.

Religious Organizations

Traveling abroad for medical missions, relief work, or simply to gain a deeper understanding of your religious heritage, is both rewarding and potentially hazardous to your health. Religious organizations frequently travel to rural areas with few amenities and reach out to the less fortunate. These two factors alone increase the risk that the traveler may be exposed to potentially deadly vaccine preventable diseases. Westfield Urgent Care can team up with your outreach departments to provide pre-travel information, vaccinations, and immunizations specific to the travel destination.

Workers Exposed to Occupational Hazards

Many employment opportunities throughout the world come with a risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other diseases. Dental hygienists, veterinarians, and healthcare workers are at risk for contact with blood-borne pathogens, but they can also be vaccinated to help prevent the spread of certain disease. Hepatitis A vaccine provided to restaurant employees can help prevent further transmission of Hepatitis A to restaurant customers. If you are in an occupation that puts you at risk for a vaccine preventable disease, please contact us.

Westfield Urgent Care is experienced at providing travel medicine, including travel vaccinations, travel immunizations, and travel consultations and information about how to take care of your health while traveling. We are also highly skilled at meeting your urgent care and occupational medicine needs.

Because we provide urgent care in Humble, Spring, The Woodlands, and just about all of north Houston, we stay open 7 days a week to better serve our patients. This means we are able to provide travel vaccinations 7 days a week, as well, which means we’ll be open when you need us.
